1. To have an accident resulting in only minor injury.
"Be careful with that hammer. You could scupper your thumb."
"Johnny scuppered his cheek bone on a branch."
2. To act in such a way that you find yourself in a challenging situation.
"Davey decided to run the rapids and got scuppered halfway down."
"Toby got scuppered in the overflow trying to drive his snowgo to Kiyu."
3. To acccidently cause damage to something rendering it useless.
"Eddy scuppered his motor trying to run it without oil."
"Kenny scuppered my tail light when he ran into it with his snowgo."
