| Somewhere between the village of Koyukuk and
the village of Huslia, Jon delivers to us a revelation he discovered to
help us make it back to Galena before school on Monday. You see, it is at
this point in the night that we all know (yet no one wants to admit or
even mention) we are not were we planned to be. After an unsuccessful
attempt to reach three day slough, we head home in the dark. However, we
miss a very vital trail and wind up half way to Huslia instead of
being most of the way home to Galena. It is very dark. We are very tired.
And some of us are wet. But, we continue (on the right trail) back to
Galena. I think it was about 4:00 AM when we finally made it back, thanks
to Jons advice on tape. |
